Small but mighty air pump, a real life saver!
This Astro AI air pump has been a life saver. I had a Ford Escape 2010 that I did not drive for over a year. It’s just been sitting unused in my apartment underground garage. This winter, I finally made time to start it so I can sell it since it was just paperweight but when I went down there, all 4 tires were flat. Luckily, I had this air pump handy so it came to the rescue.Took just 12 minutes to go from 0 to 31 PSI. The base gets noticeably hot but I let it cool down for about 10 minutes and start it up again. The pressure reading seems accurate since I can visibly see it pump air into the tires. It is also loud but when you’re in a pinch, the volume doesn’t matter. After I got the car up and running (after having to do other things), I left it sitting again but drove it at least once a month. Now, it’s been a little over 4 months and the tires are still full. Since I still need to wipe and clean it, I held off from selling it and will resume come summer. Overall, this air pump is small but it has mighty power. It’s sturdy, durable, and was easy to use and install into my tires. No hassle, no pain, anyone can use it right out of the box. Great price, highly recommend it.

Buy two!
They should give a good offer on two of these, and here’s why:I read reviews carefully before deciding on a purchase. I also try to determine if the writer might have trouble understanding and/or following instructions. The one problem I noticed most often in the one-star reviews was that the users failed to follow directions.First, you need to keep your motor running while using this device. If you try to use this off the car battery alone, you will risk draining your battery or blowing a fuse.Second, do not try to pump up all four tires at once. These devices run hot. Even the hose was very hot to the touch. So, I purchased two of these machines that would allow me to pump up tires to my 2006 Dodge Caravan alternatively. While I’m pumping one tire, the other device is cooling off.I made certain to touch every part of the machine for a temp check, before reusing it.I guarantee that if I had only purchased one tire pump, and used that pump to fill each tire consecutively and immediately, I would’ve blown out the machine. It begins running hot on one tire. So, with one machine, I would’ve been forced to wait ten minutes between each filling, or risk losing the machine, altogether.Buying two pumps is more expensive, but if I pumped each tire without a cool-off period, I would’ve been forced to buy two anyway, right? AND I would’ve lost one machine in the process…AND I would’ve had to wait a few days for delivery, instead of the recommended ten minutes for cooldown. So by buying two of these, and alternating their uses, one can be cooling down while the other is being used. Easy peasy, bumble beesy! Now, another complaint was the automatic shutoff. Personally, I set it above the recommended PSI level to make up for any air lost during hose removal. So if it says “44 psi”, I set it for “45 psi”. Then I watched the dial as the number climbed. As soon as it reached the number I selected, I shut off the machine.I’m not sure why someone would want to depend on the automativ shut-off to complete the task. The automatic shut off is not intended to be a feature of luxury; it is simply a safety feature, in case the user became distracted. The tire pump, like most machines, should never be left alone to complete a job. In all reality, the tire pump should not require ASO; but the manufacturer included it to compensate for unexpected distractions. So does my ASO feature work? I have no idea, and I don’t care. Because when I run the pump, my total and complete focus is on the pump. If a distraction occurs, I am prepared to turn off the machine so I can deal with the emergency at hand. Machines are not built for the multitaskers.Do I recommend this? I have nothing else to compare it with. I will say the numbers climbed in increments of .05 psi (21.0…21.5…22.0…22.5…23.0…23.5…etc). So the pressure climbed .5 in 6-9 seconds (ie., climbing from, say, 31.0 to 31.5 took anywhere from 6 seconds to 10 seconds, but the average time was 7 seconds). So for a tire to begin 20.0 and inflate to 45 psi (my vehicle was sitting for two years), it took no longer than 10 minutes a tire, and I’m being generous. And it would’ve taken twice as long if I had only purchased one pump.I love this machine. Have you tried filling your tires at Wawa, lately? They’ve cut off all their pumps! Other stations require insertion of coins (who carries around coins, these days?). We are either driving around, trying to find a decent air pump (while driving on low tires, mind you), or waiting in long lines to use the only working pump in town. It’s so much more convenient to fill my tires with two air pumps that I don’t have to wait to use.Once my tires are filled, I can keep one pump in each car, in case a tire gets low. I should not have to fill all four tires while on the road. But if I do, I’ll just have to wait ten minutes as the instructions suggest. This is one if the wisest purchasing decisions I’ve made recently. They also arrived supplied with alternative nozzles for bikes and sports equipment. I’m not sure if I’ll use the air pump for balls and bicycle tires, but it’s good to know I have options.I was not paid or coerced into writing this review.

Do not even try to order the “Large” unit that is offered!
The pump seems to be fine. HOWEVER…the large model apparently doesn’t exist. I ordered the LARGE yellow pump for $32.98, model A220B (described as plastic). I received the MEDIUM yellow pump for $29.99, model CZK-3631 (described as metal, but actually plastic, too). Amazon customer service offered to exchange the wrong one for the right one. However, I kept the wrong one and re-ordered a LARGE myself, because I wanted to compare the two before returning the wrong one. When the second (supposedly large, model A220B) one arrived, it was absolutely identical to the MEDIUM model CZK-3631!! Now I not only have TWO of the model I didn’t want, but twice I have paid the higher price (+ tax) that was listed for the large–and I still have to return at least one. The listing is wrong (apparently there is no medium and the only reference to A220B anywhere on the order is on the box, and it is not a model number but the ASIN (ASIA220B-US). I suspect that the phantom LARGE model is not sold in the U.S. because in the listing its item weight and air flow capacity are listed in kilograms and LPM, which are non-U.S. units. I have requested a return and refund for one of the pumps PLUS the difference in price + tax on the one I’m keeping. I expect to receive a full refund for the item returned but likely will have to eat the difference on the one I’m keeping, so I will have received a unit that isn’t want I wanted and paid more for it than I should have. Do yourself a favor and don’t even try to get the large pump.

Essential for any vehicle owner
Ordered one of these years ago and recently got another for my step-dad. No battery to worry about is a plus, it easily plugs into your cards 12v port. It’s compact design makes it easy to tuck inside your car or away in the trunk. When airing up your tires, it takes about as much time as a pump you’d find at a gas station. The fact that I’ve had it for a number of years now lends to its sturdy durability. The light on the front is nice if you’re in an area with low or no light.

Even better than described!
This is super easy to use. Watch some of the instructional videos and you’ll be set.None of the reviews mention your car should be running, but the instructions say to leave your car running while you use this. Makes sense, so you get full power and don’t drain your batters. My tire was about 6psi low. I was expecting it to take ten minutes or more to get up to the correct pressure so I was doing some other things while waiting. In a couple minutes it shut off so I thought maybe the unit was defector or overheated. I was wrong! I was up to full pressure in just a couple of minutes!I can’t believe how much power this little compressor has! Wow.Get yourself a little bag to put it in and keep it in your trunk. You’ll be glad you have this with you for emergencies and for keeping your car tires properly inflated. It will probably pay for itself in the gas you save from having properly inflated tires.Yes, this is a real purchase and a real review.

Highly recommend.
I have had this for several years now. It’s a great little unit!It is highly portable. Plug it into a working power outlet (cigarette lighter style), and it is ready to go.Nice features:1. There are settings for your preferred unit of measure (metric or avoirdupois/USA).2. It can be set to a preselected air pressure.3. When set to a specific pressure and the chuck is locked onto the valve stem, it stops automatically.4. Has a backlit display and built-in trouble light for nighttime use.5. Provides consistent pressure readings.Caveats:1. The lockable chuck is only compatible with Schrader valves. Use with Presta valves requires an adapter that is not included.2. It is not a high-volume CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) unit and, therefore, is not quick. However, its ease of use and convenience are acceptable in most instances.Over the last few years and 100s of times used in all weather conditions, it has been absolutely reliable, never failing once.I highly recommend this product!

Great Air Compressor, totally worth it
This little unit is amazing. Had a spare care which hasn’t been used in a while. Tire was at 5psi, set the dial to 32 psi and in a few minutes it was back up and running.Super easy to use and the LED light is a bonus. The auto stop feature is great too. Wish I would’ve bought this a long time ago.The cord is close to 10 feet long so I was able to get easily get to both side of the car while in the garage.

I love it when items work as expected!
this item meets my expectations. Things you should know about the product:o it is not re-chargeable, even though the item is portable; the item must be plugged into your vehicles 12v plug-in and the the vehicle, at least in my case, must be turned ono the cord was plenty long enough to reach both front and rear tireso the item has one great smart feature: you set the desired tire pressure using the +/- buttons then flip the switch to the 1 position; the device will stop when the desired psi is reached; there is also an M button, i assume for using in manual modeo this item is pretty much plug-and-play; usage is intuitiveo great value for the purchase price

Works Great!
Easy to use and works great – very small device which you can easily plug into your car and it’ll be powered on. You can preset the pressure you want to inflate and it’ll automatically stop once it gets to that number which is a huge plus. I plugged it in, and just waited for it to finish. The only thing I don’t really like but is by no means a deal breaker, is that it’s very loud once on, imagine a lawn mower. It is awkward all the noise it causes since I live in an apartment complex, though I will say you will definitely know if you’ve successfully turned it on or not. If you don’t hear a noise, it’s not on.
